Destination Detroit

BRANDING

Southeast Michigan. That’s where we live, work and play (as economic development folks like to say). It’s a 7,000-square-mile region. And it’s got more than 5 million people in it. That means if the Detroit region was a single state, it would be the 23rd largest in the country. (Take that, Kentucky and Oregon!)

Working with the Detroit Regional Chamber and economic development leaders from the 11 counties that make up the footprint, we helped frame a new platform for selling the region around the world. Destination Detroit is the theme and it’s been used to shine a light on why our home turf is one of the best places for global companies to find growth in the North American economy.

We launched Destination Detroit – and the brand look – with this overview brochure from our Director of Design, Izabela Skonieczka. It features a gorgeous cover photo by James Haefner – a world class photographer who calls Detroit home.

BTW, that stairwell and the building around it are part of the stunning General Motors Tech Center campus. If you ever get a chance to visit – which isn’t easy – you should. There’s some truly significant architecture there.
