FACTORY CREATES NEW CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE DOWNTOWN ROYAL OAK

Five and a half years ago, Factory opened our doors in Downtown Royal Oak. It’s been our home ever since. And we’ve loved every minute here. There’s a wonderful Royal Oak vibe that’s equal parts fun and hip, sophisticated and down-to-earth.

Which is why we were so excited to have been hired by the Royal Oak Downtown Development Authority this summer to create a new campaign to promote Royal Oak for dining, shopping, recreation and entertainment. It’s the perfect opportunity to showcase everything we love about our neighborhood. The campaign is built around a wide diversity of moments – from Morning to Happy Hour, Tea Time to Sunday Brunch – and the Royal Oak attitude that ties it all together. The point of it all is to remind people that any time they’re thinking of going out, Royal Oak deserves a spot at the top of their short list of considered destinations.

To squeeze more of these moments out of our production budget, all broadcast was produced in :15 second units . . . giving us more opportunities to make quick impressions about everything downtown Royal Oak has to offer.

In total, we’ve got six TV commercials, 14 radio spots (including four just for the holiday season) and nearly 30 creative units that will show up as billboards, banner ads, social media posts and more.

All visuals were shot on location in the shops, restaurants and entertainment venues of Downtown . . . with over 25 businesses featured so far. All photography was created by the photo crew right here at Factory (Izabela Skonieczka, Tom Parr and Kelsey Kaptur).

A special thanks to the friends who helped us turn this idea of building a campaign around lots and lots (and lots) of creative units into a practical reality, including Yessian Music (who gave us a great music track and an even better deal on it), John Cathel at Cathel Color Co. (who’s our go-to- color correction person), the team at Ron Rose Milagro (who handled all audio and all the post production) and Henry Joy IV, who shot the television. It’s great to have such talented friends.
